Sikkim Darjeeling Tour 10 Days


Sikkim is situated in Eastern Himalayas spreading below Mount Kanchenjunga (8,534m), the third highest mountain in the world which can be seen from most parts of the state. and has 600 species of birds, or about half of the over 1200 species to be found in India. This beautiful state of Sikkim is sandwiched between the kingdom of Nepal in the West and Bhutan in the East, Tibet in the North and the state of West Bengal in the South with an area of 7,300 sq. kms measuring 115 kms from north to south and 65 kms. Sikkim is geographically diverse due to its location in the Himalayas. Sikkim is a popular tourist destination for its culture, scenic beauty and biodiversity. Sikkim, with its rich biodiversity, has 150 lakes ranging in altitude from 200 meters to almost 8000 meters. Gangtok is the capital city of Sikkim and has a unique hill resort of northeast India perched on the ridge of a hill at an altitude of 1700 stands undoubtedly one of the most oft-visited ones. Gangtok is famous for its scenic beauty and spectacular views of the Kanchenjunga, their highest mountain in the world. Sikkim provides a wide potential in tourism that has yet largely remained unexploited.

Darjeeling the dream land of the East, it has been a popular hill station since the British period. The tourist flow to this place has been increasing day by day. Due to the proximity with three international borders, this place is strategically very important and it is famous for its incredible tea garden.

Sikkim and Darjeeling has perennially snow-capped mountains, lush green tropical, temperate forests, gurgling streams and the rich flora and fauna completely is like a true Shangrila or "Nye-mae-el" which simply means 'heaven'.

Detail Itinerary


Day 01: Arrival in Darjeeling
Upon your arrival at Darjeeling our representative from Darjeeling welcomes you and assists you to transfer in your hotel .After freshen up; you will be provided the necessary information regarding the trip in Darjeeling and Sikkim along with our fellow trekking staff for your adventurous trip. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: Darjeeling sightseeing:
Early morning we visit Tiger hill to see the view of sunrise over Mt. Kanchendzonga. On the way back visit Yiga Choling Monastery at Ghoom. The monastery houses consists the statue of Maitrya Buddha. We will visit Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, inhabited by rare representatives of Himalayan fauna: Siberian tiger, Himalayan black bear, red panda, snow leopard and many other animal and bird species. We then visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Tibetan Welfare Centre.  The institute has an interesting Everest Museum and also offers some mountaineering and adventure. 

Day 03: Pelling to Darjeeling drive
After a hearty breakfast we drive 5 hours to Pelling and check into the hotel. If you are tired then you can relax in our hotel and if not then you can stroll around the town and do shopping on your own desire.  Pelling is a small town in Sikkim.

Day 05: Pelling sightseeing
Today we visit to Pemayangtse Monastery which is 120 km far from Gangtok at the altitude of 7000ft. It is the oldest monastery here and houses priceless thankas, icons, Buddhist texts, paintings and frescos built on the 18th century AD, this monastery follows the Nyingmapa sect of the Tibetan Buddhism. Later visit to Rabdentse palace which ruins are covered with thick forest. It was the second capital of Sikkim before shifting to Tumlong later to Gangtok. 

Day 06: Pelling to Yuksom 
Today after breakfast, you will have about 2½ hours drive to Yuksom. En route we visit Khechophalri Lake, sacred Lake of Sikkim which is believed that once you visit the Lake and wish in your mind will be fulfilled. The Lake is in the shape of a Buddha’s foot and all around rich forest cover guards the habitats. You can see large spices of birds around this lake. Overnight at Yuksum.

Day 05: Yuksom to Rabangla
After a hearty breakfast we drive to Rabangla which takes approximately 4 hours. On the way we visit Tashiding Monastery founded in 1641 Ngadak Sempa and is perched majestically atop a heart shaped hill, accessed by walking steep uphill. After a few hours’ drive we reach to Rabangla village. Rabangla is fairly small with road workers and some Tibetan settlements. There is old Ralang and new Ralang monastery to visit which is 13 km downhill to Rabangla. 

Day 06: Rabangla to Gangtok
On this day we visit both the old and new monastery which is just 13 km downhill from Rabangla. It is situated in the southern part of Sikkim. You can see the amazing paintings in the Gompa. After visiting Gompas we drive for three hours to reach Gangtok where we stop for the night.

Day 07: Gangtok Sightseeing
We will collect you on the morning for guided trip of tourist sites in Gangto. We visit Rumtek Monastery, Flower show, Hanuman Tok, Institute of Tibetology, Tashiview Point; Chorten Stupa. Rumtek (1500m) is located 24km away and on the hill, opposite of Gangtok. The monastery is currently the largest in Sikkim. It is home to the community of monks that practice Karma Kagyu lineage. The original building was first built by 9th Karmapa in 16th century. It was later reconstructed by the 16th Karmapa and inaugurated in 1966. Flower Show houses large number of flower as well the ornamental plants of Sikkim. During the flowering season, exhibitions and competitions are held here. Sikkim has around 4000 species of flowering plants. Hanuman tok situated at hilltop has a Hanuman Mandir and during the clear weather Kanchendzonga range can be view at its best. Institute of Tibetology center of Tibetan Studies & Research houses a vast collection of rare Buddhist books, manuscripts and over 200 Buddhist icons. Tashiview point provides an excellent view of Mount Kanchendzonga and far-flung North Sikkim Villages. Telescopic view of mountains is available. Chorten stupa is situated near Tibetology.

Day 08:  Gangtok to Kalimpong (80 km, 3-4 hours)
After a hearty breakfast we have a drive for approximately 4 hours till we reach Kalimpong. It is a small set in the foothills of the majestic Himalayas at an altitude of 1250 meters above sea level with magnificent views of the towering snow-crested mountain ranges.

Day 09:  Kalimpong, sightseeing:
On this day we visit Tongsa Gompa and Sangdokphalri Monastery, Shri Diwakar Vahara Institute of Kalimpong and some other sightseeing places like Dello View point and Hat Bazar. Overnight at Kalimpong.

Day 10: Kalimpong to Your Port of Destination
Your Tour has come to an end today. After breakfast, our representative will transfer you to the Bagdogra Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination as per your flight schedule, taking with us the memories of wonderful moments spend with us.
